Ikea eco car? You just know there would be bits missing!
French website LEKO is showing an eco-friendly IKEA-branded concept car.

Sustainability… erm…?
Spada's research on environmental reporting showed FTSE100 companies were more than a little clueless when explaining environmental terms and concepts.
When 79 leading companies were asked to define their interpretation of 'sustainability', only 2 (British American Tobacco and BP) were able to!
It's really no surprise that many companies don't 'get' sustainability - just look at the state of the current financial climate. It's all the evidence you need!!
AccountAbility's standards, the AA1000 Series, "are principles-based standards that provide the basis for improving the sustainability performance of organisations". It has become the gold standard for sustainability, or non-financial auditing and assurance, and a leading standard for stakeholder engagement. Hundreds of organisations now use the series to guide their practices - let's hope the magic spreads!
Charity event calendar
Just found Count me in. A little beauty of a website with a useful calendar showing key charity events in UK, US and Canada. Useful for anyone planning charity iniatives for the year.
There are also some opportunities/challenges for individual fundraising - horseback riding in Mongolia anyone?
Spend a pound to spend a penny? You’ve got to be kidding me?!

Ryan Air are considering adding coin slots to their airplane loo doors. Classy. Consumer group Which? said the airline was putting "profit before passengers". I couldn't agree more.
Let's spend our pennies elsewhere.
Two Google searches = one kettle boil!

In addition to this, Google has 'shut down' an eco search engine it powered (Ecocho.com) because it's 'compensation' to users (ie offering to plant trees for searches) was against Google rules. Read more.
In fact, there are several eco search engines, powered by Google, that were around last year and no longer exist.
Blackle from Google seems to be trying to fill the void, but i can't help thinking a blackened screen hardly compensates for all the activity from the data centres powering the searches.
