Everyone can make a small contribution to the environment. Every tree counts!

Here’s how you can participate:

  1. Blog post about the initiative + include button
  2. E-mail to CO2-neutral@kaufda.de

Crikey, could you get a more inappropriate ad campaign?

Wowee, not sure they thought this one through, if they did then it’s pretty tasteless!  The Canary Islands are encouraging you to take planes this winter to visit them and somehow thought using a polar bear to illustrate this point made perfect sense.   I’m thinking a plane, climate issue and a polar bear combo have an entirely different message!

Timing wise is interesting too seeing as the Copenhagen climate change summit is in full swing!

Not good.

The Canary’s are already under attack for reclassifying some of their indigenous plants from ‘endangered’ to ‘vulnerable’ when they are still in dramatic decline.  But hey, who needs lovely flora and forna when you can have another 2* self catering development!!?  Silly silly people.

FREAKIN GENIUS!!!

Absolutely godamn INSPIRED! Wish I’d thought of it.

Download and install the Dogooder a plug-in from http://dogoodhq.com/(got to try it to see) – it replaces normal ads on websites with messages of how to do good or non-profit paid inventory instead.

Underlying ads still get served so publishers get paid, and 50% of new profits go to… charities (like Green Thing).  Like i said, freakin genius!

24 hours of global flights – condensed into 2 mins.

The yellow dots are aircraft in the sky during a 24 hour period. Stay with the picture. You will see the light of the day moving from the east to the west, as the Earth spins on its axis. Also you will see the aircraft flow of traffic leaving the North American continent and travelling at night to arrive in the UK in the morning Then you will see the flow changing, leaving the UK in the morning and flying to the American continent in daylight. It is a 24 hour observation of all of the large aircraft flights in the world. Scary.
